About the Contributors

Jim Abrams is an ordained elder in the Church of the  Nazarene and a graduate of both Eastern Nazarene College and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He has served churches in Massachusetts, Missouri and Maine. He currently serves with his wife Becky and two children. They are in their tenth year as the pastoral family of the Bethany Church of the Nazarene in Rumford, Rhode Island.




Joe Foltz is the pastor of Ellington Church of the Nazarene in Caro, Michigan. Joe is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary.







Kazimiera I.H. Fraley pastors the Church of the Nazarene in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she lives with her husband and two school-aged daughters. She also serves as a barista at a nearby Starbucks where she makes way too many cappuccinos before 5:30 in the morning.  In her spare time she enjoy cycling with her husband and backpacking with her best friend.





Melissa Kelley began her ministry at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene (Quincy, MA) in June of 2008 where she oversees Discipleship opportunities across the life of the congregation, allowing our Rule of Life to shape our spiritual formation. Melissa has a long relationship working in Compassionate Ministries, currently on staff with Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore. She has studied at Eastern Nazarene College, Nazarene Theological Seminary and Harvard Divinity School. Pastor Melissa lives in Quincy in a pile of books in a big carefree garden with her three children. 





 


Stephanie Malcolm currently serves as an Associate Pastor at Ellsworth Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2008 with a B.A. in Religion and Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2013 with an M. Div. Stephanie resides in Millinocket, Maine with her husband and two children. In her free time, you are likely to find Stephanie with a cup of coffee in one hand reading books and comic books, trying to learn to crochet, or playing some kind of video game.






Dr. Art Roxby, III is a follower of Jesus Christ, husband to Allyson for 26 years dad to Caitlin (the second DocRox), Kyle (DocRox in training), and Abigail, pastor of the Milford Church of the Nazarene. Art received his B.A. in Pastoral Ministry at Trevecca Nazarene University, M.Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary and D.Min. from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has pastored churches in Chattanooga, TN; Erie, PA; Berwick, ME; Millinocket, ME; Ryot, PA; and Milford, DE. Art’s hobbies include reading, golf, hunting, and fishing. Advent holds a special meaning for Art as we make ready for the now and future Kingdom of God.




Jeremy D. Scott has been the pastor at North Street Community Church of the Nazarene in Hingham, MA for almost nine years. He is married to Meghan and the father of Brayden, Brenna, Brooklyn, & Brysen. He enjoys running, biking with my family, and experiencing all the corners of New England. Advent is particularly meaning to Jeremy because he appreciates the call to wait, particularly when juxtaposed with the frenetic busyness of societal Christmas. The Lord has come, is here, and is coming again!







Ryan Scott is a husband and father. He lives, loves, writes, preaches, in Middletown, Delaware. God has planted Ryan, his wife Katelynn, and their daughter Eva in the midst of a beautiful, burgeoning community where they’re committed to finding God at work and joining in. Ryan is a rabid fan of NCAA Division III basketball, board games, trivia, and maps. He’s an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, has been to the highest point in 29 states (so far) and publishes his mad ravings at onemorethingblog.blogspot.com.




David Troxler, along with his wife Karen, serves as Co-Pastors of the St. Paul’s Church of the Nazarene in Duxbury, Massachusetts.  The Troxlers have been married for 33 years. David has been pastoring for 30 years leading churches in Maine, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. They have two adult children, Tim and Sarah, a daughter-in-law Meghan and a grand-dog Tessie and their cat Lottie (pictured here).




Jon Twitchell has served in a pastoral role at the Cape Elizabeth Church of the Nazarene since 2001.  He and his wife Melody both grew up in Maine, and have served the Church of the Nazarene in a variety roles since they met at Eastern Nazarene College. Jon has written articles for Holiness Today, Grace & Peace Magazine, and recently authored Presence: A Pastor's Guide to Funerals.





Shea Zellweger is an author and theologian, currently serving in ministry in the United Church of Christ. A New York native, Shea holds a master's degree in theological research. Shea, his wife, and their son live in Eudora, Kansas.




 






It is our prayer that these Advent Longings devotionals from each of the writers help inspire your time of growth in Christ. We pray they become a means of grace for you as you reflect on the blessings of the Incarnation. We long for the coming of the Lord.
